Chowawa and East Village Played with High Low Split

Though these games are generally played as home games, Chowawa and East Village community card games can be played similar to Texas holdem and Omaha holdem poker high-low split games.

Chowaha

In this game, players are given two cards and some betting rounds, just like a Texas holdem poker. After betting round is completed, the card dealer dealt players three sets of shared cards (C1, C2, and C3 in the illustration below). Another betting round follows and the card dealer distribute s two cards face up (F1 and F2 in the illustration) followed by a new round of betting. A lone card is dealt (R1 in the illustration) along with the last betting round. Every player creates their finest hand utilizing both their individual cards in addition to a set of three cards from any of the three from one of the legal boards. There exist four suitable boards C1-C1-C1-F1-R1, C2-C2-C2-F1-R1, C2-C2-C2-F2-R1 and C3-C3-C3-F2-R1.

Chowaha is regularly played as a high-low split game; therefore a player can utilize one board for his high hand plus another board for his low hand. This game is from time to time played using low limit bet method in casinos (typically in combination with B.A.R.G.E).

East Village

East Village community cards home game is a variation of Omaha holdem high-low split.

Players are dealt 7 hole cards. Then they will dispose two out of the seven cards, which can only be utilized on the next hand. Afterward each player will "give away" a card face down from the five cards he holds. These "give away" cards are set aside face down; furthermore the dealer "shuffles" the set aside cards with a scuttle. There must be seven "give away" cards so the card dealer gets the necessary cards to reach the limit from the stub. Out of these give away cards, five will comprise the set; three cards flop, one card face up and the "river" card. The remaining two cards face down will be left unused.

All betting rounds begin similar to Omaha holdem, and a high-low split game is played requiring an 8-or-better qualifier.

Each player creates the best possible 5-card hand from the set of cards containing two hole cards and three community cards.

East Village community cards game is best suited for seven players. However, playing this game with a lesser number of players needs some game play adjustments that include; drawing additional cards that will be put in to the community cards, to maintain the normal seven shared cards. Note that "burn cards" are not utilized in this game.
